CrossHouse is another publishing division of KLMK Communications, Inc., which also owns Hannibal Books.
CrossHouse is designed for Christian authors who desire to self-publish or who submit credible and interesting manuscripts that the editorial committee at Hannibal Books feels should more appropriately be self-published by the author.
Authors choose to self-publish their books for a variety of reasons. These include: their audience is limited; they want to retain more control on the final product; their personality is more geared to independent work. Sometimes authors choose to become self-published after receiving a number of rejection letters from publishers. Sometimes self-published books become highly successful.
CrossHouse helps to bridge the gap between a first-time, or novice, author wanting to be self-published and the financial, political and practical intricacies of the book-publishing world. CrossHouse provides all the services of a major publisher including editing, design, printing and legal registration of the book. Our distribution of books is limited, however, to Hannibal Books' website, its catalog, and its toll-free 800-number sales operation as well as selected other outlets. CrossHouse also invites authors to participate more fully and directly in their title selection, cover design and editing.
CrossHouse authors purchase from us a specified number of books to sell at their speaking engagements, family reunions, churches, places of business, and so forth. Authors purchase their books from us at significant discounts off the retail/selling price of these books. Our system helps authors not only get published but also to turn a profit.
If through CrossHouse's limited distribution system the book sells well, the book is reprinted with Hannibal Books' label and released to its wider audience. Royalties are paid on all sales except those to the author and/or his/her legal representatives.
